I heard you just sold another story to Cobblestone Press. What can you tell us about it?

A. Hello Kris! In case I forget to tell you later, I had a really good time tonight—ah, Pretty Woman reference—gotta love that. Meanwhile, the new story: it's called Two Men and a Truck, and it's a M/F/M ménage romance. Here's the blurb: Josie is burned by one man and decides to leave town until two men show her how it feels to really burn.

Q. Are you often inspired by things you see while on the road? (I noticed you are a wanderer of sorts.)

A. Inspiration comes more often than not by things I see around me, things people say, stuff I read. The vegetable scene in Bone Deep was a direct result of overhearing a man and woman talking at a party. The hard part is remembering it long enough to get somewhere I can write it down. It is pretty tough to carry on a dinner conversation with people when all I'm thinking is, "That's such a great idea! I've got to write that down!"

Q. How did you get started writing erotic romance?

A. I'd been writing for a long time, typical romance stuff, then one day, I wrote this story (Isosceles Triangle) that was smoking hot…much hotter than anything I'd ever written before. I had no idea what to do with it. I even tried to give it away to someone else for them to submit under their own name—I'll tell you that story when I know you better. Ha! A writer friend of mine convinced me that I was insane and that I needed to send it to someone. So, I took her advice, didn't give it away and finally did submit it to Deanna at Cobblestone Press. She bought it in 3 days, which is still a record for me. Of all the stories I've written and published, it remains my bestseller. I got in touch with my "inner kink" and have been writing it ever since.

Q. What's your writing process? Are you a plotter or a more organic writer?

A. I'd say I'm more of a panster than a plotter. I like to go with the first spark of an idea and see where it leads.

Q. Are you working on anything new? What can you tell us about it?

A. I've recently finished the first draft of my first sequel, a follow-up story to Isosceles Triangle. I haven't come up with a title for it yet—I've been calling it "Cyber Sex" until I come up with something better. I'll get it edited one of these days and submitted to Deanna.

Q. I noticed "Isosceles Triangle" is a sci-fi book. What attracted you to that genre?

A. The title for that story didn't come to me until the very end of the first draft. I don't know what you know about triangles, but an isosceles triangle is one with 2 equal sides and 1 side of a different length. It seemed to fit the situation well with 1 male scientist, the clone he'd created of himself and the heroine. I went back at the end and gave the scientist the middle name of "Isosceles."

But that doesn't really answer your question, does it? Sorry. Why do I like sci-fi? Who knows? Why do I like martinis? I just do. They are fun and they make me feel good. Not much of a reason, is it?

Q. Which of your books was the hardest to write and why?

A. Surprisingly, I wouldn't say any of them have been hard to write. I just try to focus on the conflict and the underlying attraction, and the rest kind of turns out how it turns out. Writing for me is really about having fun—a means of escape from reality. If it gets hard, I take a vacation until the urge to write more comes to me.

Q. Tell us five surprising things about Summer Alan!

1—I have an alter-ego. If you meet many writers, you'll probably find a lot of us do.

2—I only write the hot stuff…writing a non-erotic romance doesn't interest me—nor am I especially good at it.

3—I don't know how long I'll do this. I have plans to visit the pyramids in the near future, and I can almost see myself staying there. I was born to be a Pharaoh.

4—I love trivia.

5—Writing has opened up a world to me that I didn't know existed—and that world is a blast. The world of the mind populated by amazing writers who at heart, are really interested in only one thing: telling a great story.

http://krisetoncom/author-interview-summer-alan

Bone Deep review from My Book Cravings

"Flight attendant Hailey Rockwell has just been dumped by her pilot boyfriend, David. He’s decided that he ‘needs a little time’ away to consider where their relationship is going. The problem is that the jerk really just wants to move on to another woman, and he tells his best friend an enormous lie to keep Hailey off his back. Hailey thought they were together for the long haul and had even started to think about marriage. Imagine her surprise when she finds out nearly everyone at work knew she was being dumped before she did.

Kevin believes his best friend when he’s told that Hailey is threatening to expose their affair to his wife. So he agrees to entice her away and make her forget all about David and how much she cares for him. When he sees her leave the airport terminal, he follows her out into the rain and comes to her rescue during a time when she’s feeling alone, miserable and vulnerable.

Ms. Alan has constructed a well written tale of the emotional upheaval a young woman experiences when her hopes and dreams are unexpectedly destroyed. The sex between Hailey and Kevin is intense and passionate, and David, her ex-boyfriend is definitely a jerk that you love to hate. Her descriptions of Hailey fragile emotional state was well done and vivid, leaving me little doubt to the extent of the pain she was experiencing. Kevin’s uncertainty of his feeling toward Hailey are equally well done, but his trust in the lying, conniving jerk he called his best friend left me with an unpleasant taste in my mouth. After all he was well aware that David had been having multiple affairs behind his wife’s back, so why’d be believe what he said about Hailey in the first place, I don’t understand. And why would she still want to go back to man who’d hurt her so badly. I think that if the story had been a little longer so that I could have gotten a better idea of what motivated the characters to act the way they did, I would have enjoyed it more." --Pam

http://www.mybookcravings.com/pam_bonedeep.htm

Well, she wanted it to be longer and she hated the villain...how much more can you ask for? Fresh off a flight and standing in the Seattle rain, things have never looked more grim for Hailey. Then David’s best friend Kevin pulls her into one very sexy kiss. Kevin seems just the answer for all her problems. Though things are not always what they seem. Things really heat up, and Hailey and Kevin find bliss in each others arms...then David returns to stake his claim. Can Hailey realize the kind of man David is before she makes the biggest mistake of her life?

I was immediately drawn into Bone Deep by the emotional beginning. The sweetly sensual kiss shared by Kevin and Hailey in the rain had me anticipating a very interesting story, and Ms. Alan did not disappoint. The interaction and sexual chemistry between them made for one hot story. I enjoyed the spicy side to life Kevin introduces her to. The sex scenes had me fanning myself and quickly turning the page to see what came next. Ms. Alan added in just the right amount of personal drama to make the reader root for a great outcome. I am eager to read more by this talented author.

Reviewed by: Dawnie, Fallen Angels Reviews
review link: http://fallenangelreviews.com/2008/February/Dawnie-BoneDeep.htm

I'm at Keyboards on Fire blogging today!

Come on over and visit! Our Reviewer was forced to find her toys while reading
"Dr. David Isosceles McAllister is a scientist who has dedicated his work to his life's ambition, to the exclusion of all else. He's created the world's first clone cyborg in Adam. His assistant, Chelsea Dawson, has been in love with David since she first started working for him, though he's never noticed her as a woman. David is surprised when Adam instigates an encounter
between Chelsea that brings him to his senses. Will David realize that there's more to life than just his work?
"I really loved the way Isosceles Triangle opened, leaving your mind racing a mile a minute trying to work out what was going to happen to the main characters. Dr. McAllister sounded strange but cute, with his radical ideas, and finally being able to reach the success he'd always wanted. What I did enjoy most about this story is seeing this man of science finally acknowledge the woman who he'd been working beside for so long, a woman who was in love with him, as a desirable person and one he had strong feelings for. The plot wasn't new but it held a few surprises for me and was written in such a fashion that it kept its momentum from the opening chapter. The sex between the main characters was flaming hot, whether it was a scene between Chelsea and David, or with the irresistible Adam. This made the ménage scenes extremely arousing and helped the main characters develop their relationship at a realistic pace. Adam was absolutely yummy! And the juxtaposition between him and David was marvelously done. Seeing the other side of David in Adam, his cyborg creation, brought other elements into the equation and made this short story a thoroughly enjoyable read. Ms. Alan did these two men justice in the role they played with Chelsea." --Aggie Tsirikas

Did I mention that JERR Rocks?? has created an emotion packed tale in Bone Deep. As a reader, I could completely sympathize with Hailey over the way David treated her as he ended their relationship, yet strung her along enough to hope for a reconciliation. I did find it hard to understand Hailey’s devotion to him, especially as her relationship with Kevin begins to grow…yet this is often true with love and breakups, right? Kevin is the kind of man every woman dreams of (sexy, smart, and caring) and hopes to find but his blind trust in his friend irritated me. Kevin didn’t trust in his own feelings concerning Hailey and puts their fragile relationship in a hard position. It’s only when these two are truly honest with themselves and each other that they are able to discover what they truly want. Anyone who loves realistic characters, intense feelings and scorching sexual encounters, won’t want to miss Bone Deep." --Trang Black, reviewer

Bone Deep by Summer Alan

Genre: contemporary
ISBN: 978-1-60088-196-1
Page Count: 80
Price: $$4.99
Reviewer: Trang
Sensuality Rating: Sensuous
Star Rating: 4 Stars
Author's Website: http://SummerAlan.blogspot.com

Read the review here: http://sensual.ecataromance.com/index.php?p=434

Cobblestone December 2007 Publisher Report

Top 10 for December 2007
1. I have a couple of stories in the works right now and am considering a sequel to Isosceles. That truly was a fun story to write. And couldn't we all use more fun in the coming year?

If you haven't picked up a copy of Isosceles Triangle or Bone Deep this year, there's always time to put that on your list of resolutions for the new year.

I wish I had a few words of wisdom to share, but all I can think to tell you is this: pursue your dreams. They seldom come looking for you--you have to go out and grab them!

Much love and many good wishes for a fantastic, sexy 2008!

"Top Marks Across the Board!" - Euro Review for Bone Deep

Title: Bone Deep
Author: Summer Alan
Rating: "Excellent!"
Heat Rating: (BDSM) "Extreme!"
Reviewer: Melisa

One minute Hailey Rockwell's life is sunny and great. She's a stewardess and her boyfriend is a pilot. Then her boyfriend, David, tells her he 'needs time to think' and leaves her raw and vulnerable. She gets soaked by the rain and if things couldn't get worse -her new expensive bag she bought lands in a mud puddle right in front of her. It's David's best friend and co-pilot, Kevin that comes to her rescue.

He uses his suit jacket to clean her bag, destroying his jacket in the process. While she is stunned still, he acts as if it isn't a big deal. A 'thank-you' kiss turns into much, much more.

Even though David dumped her, she doesn't feel right using Kevin. But Kevin has a secret of his own. He's wanted Hailey from the moment he set eyes on her and while David asked him to distract her while he goes and has a fling behind Hailey's back, Kevin isn't about to let this opportunity pass him by.

Kevin is torn in different directions. He wants Hailey, but he doesn't understand how she could have a relationship with David, knowing he's married. But the plot thickens and Kevin can only hope that when he tells Hailey the truth that she'll see how much he truly loves her and not tell him to go take a flying leap.

I liked Kevin when he cleaned Hailey's bag off at the loss of his jacket. I loved him at the first kiss. That man is HOT! Sex appeal like that makes a woman melt, weather it's done to her-or she reads it. And he's health conscious too. Top marks across the board. I just wish it had been longer. You hate for the good ones like this to end.

Title: Bone Deep
Author: Summer Alan
Publisher: Cobblestone Press
Genre: Contemporary
Publication date: n/a
ISBN: 978-1-60088-196-1
Pages: 80
Rating: "Excellent!"
Heat Rating: (BDSM) "Extreme!"
Reviewer: Melisa
http://euroreviews.eu.funpic.de/bookdetails.php?book_id=1170

Never a Dull Email...when you Google Alert

I have my name and the titles of my books set to search on google automatically and email me the results. Lying naked on the floor with Kevin between her legs, his mouth inches away from her pussy. David would have killed him.
     Or would he?
     "Hailey."
The sound of his voice brought her back to the present. She felt her face grow hot with embarrassment.
Kevin moved an inch closer and touched his tongue to her thigh, licking a long, slow stroke toward her pussy. He stopped and looked up at her.
"I know what you're thinking," he said simply.
He rose from the floor, and she stared up at him.
"Huh?" Got the new book coming out in a month (BONE DEEP! MARK YOUR CALENDARS!) and thought the timing was right for some upgrades. Besides, I get bored easily, so I needed a change.

A couple of friends of mine just started a new blog, and they asked me to guest blog on it next week. That should be fun--although I've been told to "Keep it clean, dammit." They are a couple of spoilsports, frankly. We'll see what I can sneak into that blog... http://keyboardsonfire.blogspot.com/ is the site. Watch for me on Wednesday next week...Halloween!

Felt like writing a piece of flash fiction so started that today. Here's the beginning:

“Seaman First Class reporting for one wild night,” Ava said to her reflection in the Mustang’s rear-view mirror. “And dressed for the part.”

Thunder shook the car as rain poured down from the pitch-black sky and covered the surrounding countryside. She smiled and peered once more at the directions to the Halloween party Lisa had scrawled down for her on a yellow Post-it Note. If this costume didn’t turn a few heads at the party, she was going as Lady Godiva next year.

Now, where had she gotten off track on this illegible mess? Lisa was a terrific friend, but she had the handwriting of a serial killer and a broken compass for a brain.

The water sluicing beneath her tires as she drove along the long, deserted two-lane road caused the rear end of the car to hydroplane. She dropped the paper and gripped the steering wheel with both hands.

Righting the car, Ava took in a shaky breath. Damn, that was close. The last thing she needed was to have a wreck out here in the middle of nowhere.

As if in answer to that thought, a loud bang sounded behind her, and the rear end fishtailed again. Resisting the urge to stomp on the brake, Ava dropped her foot from the accelerator and clutched the steering wheel, working hard to keep the front tires on the pavement.

The car slowed and bumped along until it finally rolled to a stop. Ava took in a few more breaths to remind herself that yes, she was still in the land of the living. The headlights shone out a dozen yards into the torrential rain revealing what she’d feared.

Not a person within miles on this damn road.

Ava turned off the engine and sat for a moment listening to the sound of a thousand zombies beating their fists on her roof. Or at least that’s what it sounded like out here in the dark.

“I either get out in this downpour, try to change the tire and ruin my costume or…what?” She sighed. The “what” was not good. She had to change the tire or sit here all night, fogging up the windows and listening to the zombies. She turned around and looked through the rear window.

No other cars were going to show up, that was for sure.

Cobblestone Release Schedule for November

11/2/2007
A Spirit United by L. After years of failure and being ridiculed by the scientific community, David finally succeeds in creating Adam. Adam is Dr. McAllister's doppelganger. In addition to looking just like his creator, Adam has some not so apparent similarities to his creator. Chelsea Dawson, David's long suffering lab assistant, has desired David for more years than she cares to think about with no reciprocation. Upon meeting Adam and after seeing the much wanted passion and desire reciprocated she gives in to her lusts. When David stumbles upon the two together will he be the unemotional scientist or be so overcome with envy that he will act on his own desires?

ISOSCELES TRIANGLE is a fabulous quick read. MS. ALAN captures the tunnel vision people get when going after something they want regardless of anything else. David is so consumed that he cannot or, rather I should say, does not want to see Chelsea's interest in him for years. I love how the spark that gave life to Adam, gave renewed life to Chelsea and ultimately enlightened David to what was around him and what was most important. MS. ALAN has a great writing style. It is quite engaging and throughout this read I was delighted by her humor and the various types of passions her characters displayed. This is a fast read which is very easy to finish in one sitting. I was sorry to get through it so fast since each character interested me and this story was so novel to me. The erotic scenes in this book are hot and unique especially the awesome scene at the end of the book. I look forward to reading more from this author.

My Halloween Name is good!

Moira Reid sent me this link, and I cracked up. />Rating: 5 LIPS!

For five years Chelsea has worked beside Dr. David McAllister as he struggles to build the world’s first cyborg. She has loved him every day of these five years but he has never noticed her love. Finally David’s dream has come true and he has developed Adam, a cyborg who is the exact clone of himself. Adam awakens with an erection that is caused by Chelsea but David is oblivious. When David leaves the lab to call the naysayers who fired him years before, Adam begins to seduce Chelsea. Chelsea is reluctant at first but she soon gives in as this is the only chance she may have to be in the arms of the man she loves. When David comes across the two in the midst of passion he is confused by his feelings even as he watches until the end of the act. In a final act of love, Chelsea demands David confront his true motivations and see the true love that stares him in the face.

Isosceles Triangle is an adorable story by Summer Alan! David is a scientist lost in his lab who almost lets love pass him by. Chelsea has stood by her love for five years and is willing to confront him and make David face what he could be giving up. Adam is very much an important part of David and Chelsea’s relationship and their future. I loved the scenes of passion and have to admit to considering the benefits of a husband clone! I loved Isosceles Triangle so much I was saddened to come to the end of the story.

http://www.twolipsreviews.com/content/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=1995&Itemid=36

SOLD BONE DEEP!

Just returned the signed contract for Bone Deep, my latest contemporary romance with some BDSM elements!

BONE DEEP, coming soon from Cobblestone Press

Remember that love that never was, but could have been? But when he walks in on his creation and his assistant having sex, he realizes what he wanted was right under his nose all along.

Chelsea Dawson has worked with Dr. McAllister for the past ten years. She has also been in love with him all this time but he fails to notice her. When Dr.McAllister's cyborg, who locks exactly like him, expresses his desire and wants to make love to her, she gives in but is caught by Dr. McAllister. So Chelsea devises a plan to have the man himself not just his cyborg.

Summer Alan has written a great quick read about two people who finally realize what is important in life in Isosceles Triangle. David comes to realize that Chelsea is more important than people who don't care about him. You won't want to miss the hot and steamy sex scenes either.

REVIEW FROM COFFEETIME ROMANCE

REVIEW FROM COFFEETIME ROMANCE - 4 CUPS!

ISOSCELES TRIANGLE
SUMMER ALAN
ISBN# 9781600881442
June 8, 2007
Cobblestone Press
www.cobblestone-press.com
E-book
$3.99
35 Pages
Futuristic/Scifi
Rating: 4 cups

Chelsea Dawson has loved her boss for years. As much as she supports his research in cloning and respects his intelligence, she wonders just what it is going to take for him to see that she loves all of him, not just his mind.

Dr. David Isosceles McAllister has been obsessed for ten years with proving that his cloning and cyborg theories are on target. While he is very attracted to Chelsea, he is so focused on revenge on his former employer and co-workers, he does not allow himself the luxury of a relationship with her.

When David finally figures out what was needed to make his clone cyborg work, he is ecstatic. Chelsea however, is chafing under his perceived disregard and is certain that like all the others this clone cyborg will pop, fizz, and sizzle out quickly without ever opening its eyes. However, when David flips the switch this time it is different, and he names his creation Adam. Will Chelsea be able to use Adam to get David to open his eyes and see what is right in front of him?

Isosceles Triangle is a riveting scifi read that addresses some very real possibilities for the future of science. It poses the question of "Just because we can do something, does it mean we should?" Chelsea's inner turmoil is very well written and you can practically hear her top blowing off at the beginning of the book as her mind tries to figure out a way to get around the good doctor's supposed disregard. I liked how Adam seemed to personify the emotions that David kept hidden, often even from himself. The sex is hotter than a firecracker. I look forward to more books from this author and highly recommend her.

Regina
Reviewer for Coffee Time Romance
Reviewer for Karen Find Out About New Books

Review from Romance Junkies!

Dr. David Isosceles McAllister had a dream. Ten years ago, he was thrown out of the Science Institute because no one else believed in his dream or thought he had the intelligence to make that dream a reality. Chelsea Dawson has always believed in him and stood by him as his loyal assistant for the last five years, but she has always hoped that Dr. David would see her for something more. She has tried to tempt and tease him and is just about to admit defeat. But everything may change with the unveiling of Adam, an exact cyborg duplicate of the doctor himself. Dr. David has finally achieved his dream and created a living, breathing machine. But he used his own wants, desires and fantasies to fuel the cyborg, and Adam isn't shy about expressing his needs. Will Chelsea get more than she ever hoped for?

ISOSCELES TRIANGLE is a cute, fun, futuristic romance that I highly enjoyed. Ms. Alan makes the unbelievable believable in this fast paced, well-written story. Dr. David is a pretty typical egghead, completely focused on his work and gaining recognition from the peers that humiliated him years before. He is a very lovable nerd and a terrific character. Chelsea has a five-year history of unrequited lust and love and you will certainly empathize with her past efforts in trying to gain Dr. David's attention. Adam as a character is just plain terrifically fun and you find yourself rooting for this character, which is really just the side of Dr. David we have never seen. Adam brings Dr. David's hidden desires out of the closet and sparks the romance between David and Chelsea. Dr. David's lust for recognition from his peers wanes when he finds that love is much better than revenge. ISOSCELES TRIANGLE is not appropriate for readers under seventeen however as it contains explicit sex scenes with a menage theme. I enjoyed it immensely and would be happy to read more stories by Ms. Alan.

--Sandi Potterton<?XML:NAMESPACE PREFIX = O />

I'm in the Top 10!

Top Ten Best Sellers - Cobblestone Press
1. On the day the proxy father was to arrive, Mr. Smith kissed his wife goodbye and said, "Well, I'm off now; the man should be here soon."

Half an hour later, just by chance, a door-to-door baby photographer happened to ring the doorbell, hoping to make a sale.

Good morning, Ma'am", he said, "I've come to...''

Oh, no need to explain," Mrs. Smith cut in, embarrassed, "I've been expecting you."

"Have you really?" said the photographer. "Well, that's good. Did you know babies are my specialty?"

"Well that's what my husband and I had hoped. Please come in and have a seat"

After a moment she asked, blushing, "Well, where do we start?"

"Leave everything to me. I usually try two in the bathtub, one on the couch, and perhaps a couple on the bed. And sometimes the living room
floor is fun. You can really spread out there."

"Bathtub, living room floor? No wonder it didn't work out for Harry and me!"

"Well, Ma'am, none of us can guarantee a good one every time. But if we try several different positions and I shoot from six or seven angles, I'm
sure you'll be pleased with the results."

"My, that's a lot!" gasped Mrs. Smith.

"Ma'am, in my line of work a man has to take his time. I'd love to be in and out in five minutes, but I'm sure you'd be disappointed with that."

"Don't I know it," said Mrs. Smith quietly.

The photographer opened his briefcase and pulled out a portfolio of his baby pictures. "This was done on the top of a bus," he said.

"Oh my God!" Mrs. Smith exclaimed, grasping at her throat.

"And these twins turned out exceptionally well - when you consider their mother was so difficult to work with."

"She was difficult?" asked Mrs. Smith.

"Yes, I'm afraid so I finally had to take her to the park to get the job done right. People were crowding around four and five deep to get a good
look."

"Four and five deep?" said Mrs. Smith, her eyes wide with amazement.

"Yes", the photographer replied. "And for more than three hours, too. The mother was constantly squealing and yelling - I could hardly concentrate,
and when darkness approached I had to rush my shots. Finally, when the squirrels began nibbling on my equipment, I just had to pack it all in."

Mrs. Smith leaned forward.
